Active Members

An active member is a massage therapist who qualifies and is accepted for membership in the association. All ANBMT members meet competency standards and have training accepted by a regulated province. All members have graduated from a school with a curriculum accepted by a province with provincially legislated standards for practice (Ontario, British Columbia, Newfoundland & Labrador).  Members with a College of Massage Therapists in a regulated province can apply for membership in the ANBMT.

Inactive Members

  • Attend ANBMT general meetings (no voting rights)
  • Receive all informational emails
  • Receive E-newsletters
  • Access to members-only site (job bank, upcoming events, etc.)
  • Access to seminars put on by the ANBMT at the annual general meeting (Note: course fee will be an "inactive membership" rate, not an "active membership" rate i.e. you will pay the non-member fee indicated for any given course)
  • Access to ANBMT sponsored courses (Note: course fee will be an "inactive membership" rate, not an "active membership" rate i.e. you will pay the non-member fee indicated for any given course)
  • Keep in touch with what is going on within the massage therapy profession
  • Be informed of upcoming seminars and workshops (Non-ANBMT related courses & events)
  • $50.00 inactive membership fee can be applied to active membership fee, if you choose to upgrade to active membership at a later date (during that membership year)

Student Members

Any student in a massage therapy program may become a student member.

Benefits of a student membership:

  • Attend ANBMT general meetings
  • Access to free seminars put on by the ANBMT at the annual general meeting
  • Keep in touch with what is going on in the massage therapy profession
  • Be informed of upcoming seminars and workshops particularly ones in which students can participate
  • $50.00 Student membership fee applied to Active membership fee, if registered within 6 months after graduation.
